Brooches were an important part of a Viking woman's wardrobe. These beautiful brooches feature animals interlaced in a complex design. They can be used to hold garments together or to hold strings of glass beads. This style of Anglo-Scandinavian brooch could be found in England from the 19th century up until the Norman conquest. There is ongoing debate as to whether these were manufactured locally or imported.
