Here we have a marvellous clover brooch by leading Swiss born Russian court jeweller, Friedrich Köchli. While little is known today, he can be counted among the greatest of Russian jewellers and was favoured by Tsars and wealthy Grand Dukes. By 1903, his firm had surpassed even Fabergé by orders.
In terms of this piece, the frame has been crafted from a pinky 14ct gold which plays host to three separate clusters consisting of an 8mm natural pearl at the centre and circulating array of bright white round faceted old mine cut diamonds with a matching diamond set stem at the centre; all stones of which have been claw set in silver. Each of the three clusters can be removed via a screwed backing enabling each to be individually admired.
A fabulous piece of the tremendous quality.
